"Hawks" over Polish skies!

Under a landmark contract signed on April 18, 2003, Poland signed a contract for the purchase of 48 modern fighters: 36 F-16C combat variants and 12 F-16D trainer-combat variants. This was a milestone in the modernization of the Polish Air Force. The first F-16C for Poland took to the air on March 14, 2006, in Fort Worth, Texas, and the first four aircraft arrived at domestic airports in November 2006. Today, Polish F-16s – known as "Jastrzebie" (Hawks) – are the backbone of the Polish Air Force and one of the most important elements of NATO's combat capability in our part of Europe.
Equipped with advanced combat and communication systems, including the AN/APG-68(V)9 radar and the Link 16 tactical information exchange system, Polish F-16s provide air superiority and the ability to conduct complex operations within coalition allied forces.

In peacetime, the "Jastrzebie" (Hawks) regularly participate in allied exercises and NATO airspace surveillance missions in the Baltic states, and in the event of a conflict, they are ready to rapidly take control of the skies. Their presence symbolizes the modernity, independence and combat readiness of the Polish Armed Forces.
